Gone With The Wind poster

Plot: Epic soap opera about the American Civil War and in particular the life and loves of Scarlett O’Hara and Rhett Butler. It is regarded by some as the greatest movie ever made.

Hope says: I love this movie because it tells the story of a relationship and it has some tender moments. It’s absolutely beautiful, a classic love story. I’ve seen it about three times. I didn’t read the book but I love Clark Gable. He was a wonderful actor and the film is really made by the acting. I love Vivian Leigh as well… You couldn’t separate them: she was the best female and he was the best male. But Clark Gable, he’s so smooth, he’s just the ultimate in smooth… he could work his way into any woman’s heart. He’s the ultimate, what can I say? No-one else could have played Rhett Butler. It’s such a sophisticated performance you can’t fault him. I like the rugged type – I also like Marlon Brando in A Streetcar Named Desire.
